The story
Pengi is about eighteen. He loves fishing, his friends, a good belly slide and pretty much any sport going. He waddles home across the Antarctic ice with the day's catch and finds his whole colony gone.
Up on a rooftop, something unexpected is waiting: Lacey, a pair of sentient canvas high-tops. Together they step into the Threadway, a strange transit country full of belongings lost by a mysterious convoy, and start the long way home.
